by
Stepha Leigh

Selkies were fairy type creature originating in Scottish folklore. They were said to take the form of seals and at certain times of the year they took off the seal skin revealing a beautiful woman. Men watched for them because as the legend goes..... To steal and hide their seal skins would obligate them to marry the man. Selkies never stop longing for the sea...... If their skin is found they can return home to the ocean and always do regardless of what might keep them with their human husband.
